Tonight's dinner

Multi-grain salad...doesn't it look good?

Pearl couscous, red quinoa, orzo, orange lentils, sun-dried tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts, chives and Mrs. Dash...all tossed with white balsamic vinegar...YUMMY! Now, let's see if the husband likes it!

WIPocalypse February check-in

It's a post full of lousy photos, but that's just the way it is today....anyway, here's my progress for the month:

First up, Zulma's baby sampler. No before photo, because I started it after she had the baby! I just need to attach the button in the center and pop this into the frame and it will be ready to deliver. Maybe Friday...

And a lot of progress on Sense & Sensibility...here's the before:

The "After" photo is dreadful, but at least you can see how much progress I've made!

Remember The 12 Days of Christmas? I had hoped to get it finished in January, but then I discovered that I was missing one shade of floss. So this is where I was when we had our last WIPocalypse check-in:

and this is where I was when I discovered that I was missing one shade of floss, and all the stitching ground to a halt...

I did manage to finish the Downton Abbey freebie. Here's where I was at our last check-in:

and here's my finished Downton Abbey, all framed and ready to be displayed:

All in all, a pretty good month!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Dickens

I think I'll watch a movie based on one of your novels tonight to celebrate...I wonder which one?

And perhaps some porridge for breakfast...

My hubby, the actor...

We went to the movie last night, and saw a standee for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Last year my darling husband spent about a week on the set as an extra--playing both a Confederate soldier, and a Union soldier.

The movie opens sometime this summer, so I suspect we'll be planning on a night out once it opens!

I haven't read any of these 'mash-up' novels, but I understand that they are quite popular. But honestly--Sense & Sensibility & Sea Monsters or Pride & Prejudice & Zombies--I just don't get it...

Maybe I will after I watch Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter! At least I'll have fun looking to see if I can pick DH out of the crowd...

And yes, he had a great time on the set! It was quite a change from a typical re-enactment event--so I'm really glad he was able to be a part of it.

WOW! What a beauty...

Wow---what a stunning sewing box! Can you just imagine how lovely it would look sitting on your sewing table?

And what a pleasure it would be to open it, and take out your stitching tools?

And check out this YouTube video to look inside the box, and the book:

Wooly Thread has copies in stock, and I hear that 3Stitches, in Spring, TX is kitting it up.

So if anyone starts to stitch it, I hope you'll let me know and that you'll share your stitching adventure with me!
