WIPocalypse January check-in

Here's my first check-in for the WIPocalpse! Now, before you go any further...forgive the photos. There was a pretty-darn-important football game on Saturday, and then there's a some kind of big durn deal football game going on tonight and between pre-game preps, game watching, and then the pretty near impossible 48-hour turnaround there's just not much time for things like ironing!

I've worked on a couple of pieces since we started W2012. First up: Blue Sparkle Angel, a counted canvas piece from Gay Ann Rogers. This is my Saturday stitch. Sadly, this Saturday I finished one row of the border and then discovered that I don't have one of the threads that I need, so I had to put it away until I can go to the LNS and pick some up..

Here are the before-and-after photos:

"Sew Peaceful" from iStitch turned out to be my first finish for the year. Here are the before and after photos :

And then there is 12 Days of Christmas from Little House Needleworks. Here's where I was when I left off at the end of 2011: (or my before photo!)

And here's where I am today: (or the after photo!)

There was also some other WIPocalypse stitching going on. First up: Sense and Sensibility from The Sampler Girl. Before:

And after:

This is my current "frugal project" so I'm pulling all of the materials from my stash. Quite a challenge, I'll tell you!

And then there was my New Year's Day start: Wear It Out from Waxing Moon. No before shot, because there wasn't a before!

As you can tell, I was a bit undecided about the color I wanted to use. I've decided to go with the darker color.

And then--I just couldn't resist starting to stitch the cute Downton Abbey freebie from The Sampler Girl's blog. I worked on this while watching the first episode of Season 2 last night. I'll get back to it next week when the second episode airs.

Here's the start:

See you next month!

Ann you are making wonderful progess. It's so frustrating when you don't have all your threads. Are you enjoying Downton, it's one of my favourite programmed.

You have some great progress this round!

I had to chuckle at the HDF "Yonder Blue" skeins. I've been heavily into Yonder Blue on the new Chatelaine I'm stitching. I'm getting a bit... yondered out. :)
