To say that I was intrigued by this would be an understatement. The envelope looked innocent enough, so I decided to open it...
I opened it and peeked inside. A sheaf of white paper, stapled in one corner. Cautiously I removed the papers, and...
Wonder of wonders--Loretta Spears' Mystery X--Fascination was in my hand!
Long out-of-print, and virtually unavailable ANYWHERE, and yet now, this wonderful chart sits next to me as I type this.
There was no note to identify the giver--but I sincerely hope that it is someone who reads my blog, as I wish to be able to express my gratitude for this gift. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I will think of you and your kindness with each stitch, and each time I look at the finished design.
I'm already planning a trip to my LNS to purchase canvas and floss as soon as possible. And yes, as soon as I have the supplies in hand I will be stitching this lovely chart--thanks to the kindness of a stranger.
There are no strangers, only friends we haven't met.

What a lovely surprise! I don't know if you want to know how it looks at the end or not, but two folks have just blog stitched this and I put links to their work plus photographs (with their permission) on the Loretta Spears blog I'm building. This is just in case you want to see what they did.
