Frugal Stitching

2012 is my year of frugal stitching. I'm going to finish up WIPs and use up stash as much as possible when I do have a new start.

One of those frugal projects is the Sense & Sensibility sampler from The Sampler Girl. I pulled the chart from my stash last month and started to 'kit it up' from my stash. I decided that I would stitch it on some 28 count mushroom evenweave fabric and to use silk floss from my HDF box of mostly d-bag silks.

Of course, this approach means that my finished sampler will be quite different in color from the original. And that's fine, because it means that the sampler will be mine in a very special way.

Not much of a start on this one, but here's a little photo.

(There's another loaf of bread about to come out of the oven....time to get off of the computer and attend to the cooking!)

It looks beautiful. I like the blue you have chosen. It's good to change colours to suit your own taste, I often do when I want to hang a piece in a particular place.

lovely colour choice so far. I think that is the best way to choose colours.
